Unmasked Circles Conference

This project is a branding of the 2022 Circles Design Conference entitled, “Unmasked.” The theme was open to interpretation, so I decided to go in a more playful direction. I used the luchador (a professional, Mexican wrestler), in various stages of unmasking as my main form of imagery to portray the conference's theme.

The idea for this branding actually came from watching the Jack Black comedy, “Nacho Libre.” In Mexican wrestling, the luchador having his mask removed during a match is considered incredibly disrespectful and calls for disqualification. I wanted to take that notion and make it more positive. Being unmasked can make one more vulnerable but also more genuine and approachable in the eyes of others.
